Hoisin Pork Fried Rice, Kimchi, Pickles

You can use my Hoisin Spare Rib 'recipe' for pork shoulder or other meats for grilling! Only 3 ingredients: hoisin, chili garlic sauce and tamari. Once I make a batch, I slice up and use in different ways. I used the last batch of Hoisin pork to make a delicious fried brown rice dish with peas, red bell peppers and had with kimchee and pickled cue & tomatoes. Perfect condiments.

Tasty Wok Dinner Using What's In Fridge

I had all the ingredients to make a dinner: broccoli, penne, grape tomatoes, cured salted pork I used to experiment with seasoning a new cast iron wok! Lime to give broccoli some zest & Yuzu Pao chili sauce to spice it all up.

I fried these slices of pork till slightly crispy and all the fat was rendered. This pork is so similar to bacon except it's meatier which I prefer (definitely use this again.) Then used fat to fry the broccoli with garlic & ginger.

Combined the broccoli, chopped pork, grape tomatoes, scallions and penne, added Yuzu Pao chili sauce.

Easy Kimchee: Chayote, Carrots, Red Onions & Scallions

I hate wasting food, so with all the veggies leftover from cooking class, I made Easy Kimchee or Kimchi! This time, instead of brining first, I used all the proper ingredients incl. Fish sauce, diced Ginger & chili powder. I omitted garlic.

Little update: after reading Mango and Lime's Kimchee workshop she attended at Little River Garden, post here, I decided to add some salt and rice wine vinegar to preserve longer as it's such a big batch. When I went to add just now, the veggies had already shrunk down half the size, boo.

Didn't bother using a separate bowl to mix these. I simply added to the container of veggies, EASY! Saves washing up another bowl! So nice to have with our dinners, just gives a little oomph!
