Forks Over Knives Movie with friends,Lincoln Rd

Nice to see Henri & Mario of itsabundt.com as well as my dear friend Irene, photo artist and writer for Miami Artzine, at the advanced screening of Forks Over Knives

It was a very thought provoking movie, general release May 13 (hey, it was today!) Definitely a must see, the results were staggering what plant based diets can do for folks who had heart diseases and diabetes. What's incredible is that my hubby bought Dr. T. Colin Campbell's huge book years ago:, Diet, Lifestyle and Mortality in China, so when Dr. Campbell's name came up as being in the movie, I knew I had to see it!

Even if I don't turn into a vegetarian, we all know that every diet promotes eating more veggies!  As a wok cooking teacher, I can tell you that simply frying your veggies, makes them crispy, crunchy and with a dash of tamari and sherry adds a bit of Asian twist that even picky kids and spouses will wolf them down and ask for seconds! I've given many healthy, easy wok stir fry demos and classes at Whole Foods Market and people are constantly amazed how tasty my veggies are with so few seasonings.

I think my approach to simple one-dish wok dinners with lots of veggies & a little meat is very easy to follow everyday!!!

I would love to hear your feedback after you've seen the movie. I must say, I've increased my consumption of veggies and like it.  But I also believe in these two mottos: food is medicine and prevention first.

Love Lincoln Rd at Regal Cinema end, paved piazza with ponds and trees, so beautiful! Everytime I take a photo, I can see the greenery has grown.

Here's a review from the LA Times, Roger Ebert

Yay, Roger Ebert pointed out the merits of an Asian diet, use meat as a "flavoring not a main course." Isn't that what I said earlier?

A day on South Beach

Finally tried Shake Shack's burger to see what all the fuss was about. Nothing special, good price for South Beach.

I love walking along Lincoln Rd Mall in South Beach, it's my favorite hangout, it never gets old. Always full of activity, energy and vibe. I can't wait to move there, goal is end of this year.

While the rest of the country is covered in snow, we are having gorgeous weather! Thankful.

I got a nice compliment from my hubby who mentioned I had a good eye and composition with my photos, made me smile. He especially liked this one with the ground cover and trunks going up.

Don't know whether you can see, 3 little turtles 'sunning' themselves at the pond's ledge.
Can't believe mother let her kids touch the turtle which scared it off. This New Year's resolution is to stop and smell the roses!  Well, observing & capturing my surroundings and its natural beauty made me really appreciate being outdoors.

Last stop was getting granola, folks, this may be 'healthy' but notice the BIG difference in 'sugar content'! 15 grams vs 6 grams (I get Honey Gone Nuts). I sprinkle over our fruit and yoghurt and my steel cut oatmeal for breakfast.
